"Enthusiastic student shows how to print"

Many professionals involved in 'Design', or teaching it, such as Graphic Designers, Advertising Creatives and experts in printing and pre-press, find it informative to visit MMOP and spend a day or two designing, typesetting and printing without a computer.

For many years, MMOP was been part of the (then) AG Ideas annual event in Melbourne for designers and design students. AG Ideas participants were able to spend an evening in one of forty or so design studios, seeing industry at first hand. MMOP was one of the studios, and about a dozen participants, including some from overseas, came over for an evening to see some of the traditional methods and equipment of typography. They got to design, type-set and print a souvenir poster.

This picture shows one of the visitors enthusiastically taking her turn at printing the poster while the others look on.
